Who I Am
My name is Oliver C. and I’m a college student studying mechanical engineering. I enjoy creating different studying tools that make it easier and faster to work through math problems, especially when I’m deep into homework or exam prep.
Why I Created Arithmetools
I originally built these tools just for myself, so I could have quick access to the calculators and helpers I use the most while studying. Over time, I realized that other students and self-learners might be struggling with the same things I was, so I decided to make Arithmetools public.
The goal is simple: keep everything in one place, organized, and easy to use, instead of jumping between a bunch of different random calculators on the internet. Arithmetools is meant for anyone who needs it—from middle and high school students up through college and beyond, plus tutors or anyone reviewing math.
What You’ll Find Here
Arithmetools brings several focused tools together on one site:
- Algebra Calculator – Simplify expressions, factor polynomials, and solve equations with step-by-step explanations.
- Derivative Calculator – Symbolic and numeric differentiation for single- and multi-variable functions, with steps.
- Graphing Calculator – Plot multiple functions, explore intersections, and switch between degree and radian modes.
- Integral Calculator – Compute definite and indefinite integrals, and view step-by-step antiderivatives.
- Math Symbol Writer – Type and format math symbols quickly, then copy them into your other tools or documents.
How Arithmetools Is Built
I coded these tools myself with help from a few friends and coding assistants. A big focus for me is not just giving an answer, but also showing the steps behind the result whenever possible, so it can actually help with learning and studying instead of just acting like a black box.
I’m always open to feedback, requests, and criticism. I plan to keep updating and improving the tools based on what people need and what’s not working well. If something breaks or could be clearer, I want to know.
Future Plans
In the future, I plan to spend time creating additional sites and tools that cover different topics in math and related areas. That could include more specialized calculators, topic-focused helpers, or other study tools aimed at making problem-solving less frustrating and more efficient.
